Bakuna for all: For a secured future

We've been dealing with the COVID-19 epidemic for over two years. It is impossible to dispute that it has brought numerous difficulties into our life. Countless individuals are infected and die as a result of the disease. Vaccines were created and produced worldwide as a result of the specialists' extensive research. Vaccination was gradually introduced.

Through the "Resbakuna Kids" programme, the National Government launched a trial deployment of COVID-19 immunization for children aged 5 to 11 years old on February 7. The fundamental goal of vaccination for children and teenagers is to provide them with better learning instructions and to keep them safe while interacting with others. Many people are still unwilling to be vaccinated due to misconceptions. However, it is clear that there are no negative consequences.

Our best hope for eradicating the COVID-19 epidemic is vaccines. As evidence, we are already free of numerous constraints, moving forward with our economy, and, most significantly, everything is normalised. And I can tell that we can achieve the finest outcomes if we comply.

The Fiery Spirit of Combat

We celebrate the valour of Filipino and American soldiers during the Japanese rule of the Philippines during World War II by celebrating "araw ng kagitingan”. It is quite amazing that the captive warriors remained resolute despite their defeat and it is only one of the many reasons why they deserve to be called "heroes" and acknowledged for their contributions to the Philippines' democracy and freedom.

MacArthur's army in the Battle of Bataan comprised of tens of thousands of poorly trained and equipped Filipino reservists, as well as 22,000 American forces, these were essentially a mix of "spirit-and-polish" garrison troops without combat experience, artillerymen, a small handful of plane-less pilots and ground personnel, and sailors whose ships happened to be in port as Japanese forces destroyed Manila and its naval yards. This suggests that they were already at a disadvantage at the start, but Filipinos should be proud of their fortitude and sacrifices for the country.

Despite a paucity of supplies, American and Filipino troops fought the Japanese for three months. It's incredible how Filipinos, despite a lack of adequate equipment and high-tech supplies, can fight and protect our nation to the point of risking their lives.

Filipinos' fortitude is genuinely unique, and our ability to remain calm in the face of adversity may be regarded the true resilience that a country need. Continuously observing patriotism and love for the nation in all forms, as well as the fortitude and bravery that our heroes shown for the country, is a requirement. And the battling spirit with which we go about our everyday lives will hopefully soon be the key to obtaining what we desire.

Lenten Season

As the month of March approaches, all catholic gets ready because as the month starts means the Lenten season also starts. Lent is a six-week liturgical season in the Christian Church that precedes the celebration of Holy Week. Lent is the season of the church year that follows the Epiphany Season. It is a time we set aside each year to remember the love of God that is poured out through Christ Jesus on the cross in His death; and His defeat of death, sin and Satan in Christ's death and resurrection that brings Eternal Life to us.

We Christians partake in a number of traditional traditions throughout this season. Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. We normally attend to church on this day and receive the cross mark on our forehead, which represents inner repentance. This event serves as a sombre reminder of our mortality and the need for God's forgiveness. Fasting and abstinence are also prevalent habits during the Lenten Season. Fasting is when you only eat one meal a day. To maintain vigour, up to two light meals are acceptable. Furthermore, on Maundy Thursday or Good Friday, a typical activity is Visita Iglesia, or visiting churches and reciting the Stations of the Cross. However, we are in the middle of a pandemic right now. We are unable to congregate freely with a huge throng as we used to due to government limitations.

The Lenten season is one of the most important occasions in our life as Christians. So, whatever the difficulties we face, we should remember our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, and his sacrifices. However, we must not overlook the safety protocol. I wish you all a pleasant and calm Lenten season!

Kannawidan Ylocos Festival: Intay Rambakan!

Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is a festival in the Province of Ilocos Sur. It commemorates the foundation of the Province of Ilocos Sur. It is a celebration that starts from the last week of January and ends at the first week of February. It is the Ilocanos' way of thanking the almighty for not just the many bounties, but also for the province's rich tradition, which includes deep familial relationships among the Ilocanos.

This celebration features cultural performances, religious rites, and cookery demonstrations
highlighting Ilocano food at its best. Another feature of the occasion is the OTOP (one town, one product) exhibition. This is necessary in order to promote our products rather than patronizing those from other regions. This occurrence exemplifies the Ilocanos' strong religious roots. This event focuses primarily on the Ilocano children. It is because the newer generations of the province are unaware of the Ilocano culture. And instead, there is a greater emphasis on contemporary dances. With this kind of endeavor , Ilocano children can appreciate their rich culture and tradition.

This year's celebrations aren't as extravagant as prior years'. Nonetheless, the government continues to host events or competitions. The celebration, however, is subject to some limitations. In any event, it was a special occasion since we are making significant progress and are on the approach of returning to normalcy. In the following years, we expect a more fruitful and magnificent celebration
