QUARTER II

Second Quarter is coming to an end again. During the 8-week duration of this quarter I learned alot of things that I didn’t even knew it existed before. This quarter had a smoother playback to me compared from the first quarter but there are also difficulties that I have encountered.

It was difficult for me to comprehend how the program notepad worked at first, but with the aid of online video tutorials, I gradually learned how to use it. At the mid-part of this quarter, my laptop malfunctioned and all my files including my answer sheets have been deleted. And I have to start answering my modules all over again. During this quarter I had also improve my skills in writing essays and enjoyed posting blogs. Upon learning, problems and hardships are unavoidable. All I can do is concentrate on my academics and strive for the best.

Moving on, I will continue doing my best with my studies for the remaining quarters of this school year. Challenges may come up but I’ll make sure to conquer it. I hope that in the mere future I’d be able to be want I wanted to be and do the things that makes me happy.

Viva Vigan!

The festivities that take place in every town are an integral part of the Filipino culture. One of the most well-known is the Vigan Town Fiesta, which is held on January 25 in honor of St. Paul the Apostle.

The Vigan Town Fiesta is held in the Ilocos region of the Philippines, in the far north of the country. The festival attracts a large number of tourists who come to view the show's performances. Vigan Town Fiesta features arts and crafts exhibits, carnivals, street dancing performances, and other lively events that honor Vigan's cityhood character. Thousands of visitors from other regions of the Philippines and other nations across the world have joined them.

The whole celebration is made in honor of St. Paul the Apostle. The saint is considered the patron saint of the town. Following that, there are some establishments made dedicated to him that are found elsewhere in the city.

Unfortunately, we were not able to celebrate the Vigan City festival this year just like how we celebrated it the old and traditional way. This year’s celebration have changed  a little bit compared to how we used to celebrate it for the past years because of the covid-19 pandemic and due to the quarantines  protocols that we have to follow. Some of the activities were prohibited, just like the street dancing performances and carnivals. While some of activities were allowed, just like the “Saniata Ti Ylocos”, on the spot painting and any other activities that does not acquire large mass of people as long as they follow the health protocols issued by healthcare officers.

This year’s celebration maybe different from the previous years but essence of the festival remains the same. Because for the time being, everyone’s safety is our main priority.

New Year’s Resolution

New Year symbolizes a new chapter of life. Every New Year ushers in a fresh start in life. It is the right time to bid goodbye to all of our bad past experiences, to let go of our bad habits, to reminisce all the lesson that life had taught us, to move forward with positive things in mind and to get ready for the things that are yet to come.

  Resolution helps us r
eflect on the past, present and future, figuring out what has been working and what may need to be changed to provide a boost. New Year’s resolution is a tradition for me that I’ve been doing since I was still very young. For this year’s resolution, I have set my goals to focus more on my education, to maintain a healthy body as well as healthy mind, to learn how to be a sociable person, to be a little bit better in making life decisions and to apply life lessons that I have learned for the past year. I want to improve and change the old me into a better and stronger me.

As the New Year comes we should leave all the negativities behind and hold onto to the good memories and make it our own source of inspiration. Let us set our lives for a better change, let us hold onto our goals and be ready to the challenges that awaits for us and be ready to create a brighter future. And as the New Year arrives let us spread love, peace and unity.

Thrive for the Best!
